Really great time tonight - thank you so much for the gracious hospitality and support. I was learning so much from the other speakers I could hardly keep focused on what I wanted to talk about - really excellent idea - I see this as next generation of toastmasters. Perhaps we could do a smaller event for "striking the match" - preparing for Ignition? Help people learn some public speaking tips? I sure could use more help in that area myself...

Great to finally meet you in person.

[...] Missed the Make event, but got to see all the Ask Later talks at the third edition of Ignite Seattle. As usual a ton of fun. In addition to the talks themselves, I am getting to know some people in the local geek community which is always nice, and have a colleague attend made it even more smashing.
[...] … or today depending on your timezone. The list of Ask Later talks is now up. Speaking at Ignite 2 was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life. Once again Ignite Seattle will be held at the CHAC, and will be preceded by a MAKE event [...]

[...] Excellent scene. The paper aeroplane contest was fiendishly difficult… More anon. [Later, back home.] The format was excellent - two series of “Ask Later” talks, each 5 minutes long with the slides set to auto-advance whether or not the speaker was ready! The topics ranged from teaching CS in prisons to IT ops with the US Marines in Al-Anbar Province, by way of such things as naturopathy, social network tagging, bee-keeping, choosing business names, naturopathic “health hacks”, surviving Lyme disease, getting skeptical about security, hanging with the Touareg, and optimising the fuel efficiency of aero engines! The full list is here. [...]
